"Carlos Guerra is in the business of saving lives, he possesses a unique and distinguished career background in research, education and the practice of alternative, complimentary, and preventative medicine."

(Excerpt from an article in the Taos News, Taos, NM)

He comes from a long line of medical and holistic practitioners.  His great-grandmother and grandmother were practicing Afro-Cuban herbal healers.  His mother a dental surgeon, and his aunt a doctor in pharmacy and practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic remedies.

A Graduate of Candler College in Havana Cuba, he also attended the University of New Mexico at Taos, NM and the College of Human Services in NY.  His life's accomplishments led to an endorsement as Masters in Addiction Counseling from the National Association of Forensic Counselors, and he was an honored task-force member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and principal author of the WV Chapter by-laws.  He is also a Certified Criminal Justice Specialist, a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and pending member of the American Holistic Nurses' Association, the American Herbalist Guild, the Canadian Natural Center for Homeopathy, and the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association.

An Honorary Alumnus of Alderson-Broaddus College, he has served as lecturer and consultant to the University of Charleston, project developer to the Appalachian Educational Lab, as well as occupying the position of private research assistant, advisor and nurse to the late Dr. Paul Bigelow Sears, Ph.D., former chair School of Botany, Notre Dame University.

His vast clinical experience extends as well to the field of mental health.  As Director and Founder of V.I.D.A. (Viable Innovative Drug Alternatives), therapist at New Hope of central Florida, senior staff clinician at the Narcotic Abuse Treatment Program in California and Administrator for Family Services in West Virginia, he is endowed with a perception into human nature seldom seen in practitioners this day and age.

As founder and owner of Synchronicity, a Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine consulting firm, and Herbs Unlimited, a retail herbal enterprise, Mr. Guerra in addition to his private practice, is offering his extensive knowledge and experience as lecturer and consultant to academic and health care institutions, medical practitioners, and civic groups.
